Hana Nursery plants are guaranteed to be free from disease and pests and are grown in 100%
soilless media. Those are the basic requirements for plants to leave the state of Hawaii.
In the unusual event that you encounter any problem at the Hawaii Airport Inspection area,
simply get a receipt that contains the Supervisor’s Name, Date, Time, and Reason for Rejection
and mail to Hana Nursery for a full refund.
Certain states including Texas, Arizona and Louisiana have rules requiring the state of Hawaii to
certify all plants leaving Hawaii for entry to those states. California will not allow Hawaiian plants
to enter at all. For more information regarding your particular state, call the Hawaii Department of
Agriculture, Plant Inspection, Maui office at (808) 873-3962.
Tip: Just prior to any inspection wash the plants carefully with soapy water to insure last minute
pests have not caught a possible ride to Disneyland or Las Vegas!
